Integration of micro- and mycobiome sequence data

My name is Zixuan and I'm from China, where I completed my BA in life science at the Nanjing Agricultural University (2013-2017). I did a one-semester exchange in Ghent University during the last year of my BA studies. From 2017-2019, I finished my MA of bioinformatics in KULeuven.

In my final Masters' project, I joined a project aiming at developing a novel cluster validity index which is appropriate for high volume and high dimensionality datasets generated from clinical studies.

After graduation, my interest in bioinformatics field led me to participate in related researches continuously. Therefore, from December 2019, I have been working as an early stage researcher (ESR) as part of the FunHoMic Marie Skłodowska–Curie Innovative Training Network at the Vall d'Hebron Institut Recerca in Paris (VHIR), under the supervision of Dr. Chaysavanh Manichanh. This project engages to expand the bioinformatics toolkit for studying the Fungus-Host-Microbiota interplay by integrating the sequence and clinical data obtained from feacal and vaginal samples collected from volunteers.
