Institut Pasteur is one of the most prestigious health research institutions in the world and over its history, 10 Institut Pasteur researchers have been awarded a Nobel Prize. IP is a recognized public benefit organization entrusted with four core missions of public interest: research, public health, teaching and innovation through the valorization of scientific research via technology transfer and industrial partnerships. Founded over a century ago, the institute today stands at the forefront of biomedical research. In particular, IP has developed an internationally renowned position in the field of molecular mycology over the last twenty years.
The Fungal Biology and Pathogenicity Unit of Institut Pasteur is a well-funded, well established unit with ~14 research staff, post-docs and PhD students and lead contributions in C. albicans genomics and functional genomics, with clinical and animal experiment expertise. It is embedded within the Department of Mycology that includes six well-funded, well-established fungal genomics, immunology and molecular biology groups. It has access to state-of-the art facilities in the field of omics (high throughput sequencing, proteomics), imaging, and bioinformatics.
