University of Exeter
The University of Exeter is a Russell Group university in the top one per cent of universities worldwide. The University has made investments of more than £350 million in new facilities in recent years, as seeks to establish its position as an international leader in health and life sciences research through an expansion of biomedical research.
The recent relocation of the MRC Centre for Medical Mycology to the beautiful Streatham Campus in Exeter aligns directly with this strategic objective. With significant investment from the University, the MRC Centre is expanding beyond our current 21 PIs. We enjoy an extremely broad range of expertise that spans fungal pathobiology, fungal immunology, translational biology and clinical mycology. Our research now extends beyond pathogenic Candida and Aspergillus species to Cryptococcus, Sporothrix and Pneumocystis. We are disseminating our expertise to regions of the world that suffer high levels of endemic fungal disease by developing international Research and Training Units in Africa, Asia and South America.
