Marie-Elisabeth Bougnoux took her MD and her PhD from University Paris Descartes, France, where she is currently Associate Professor of Parasitology-Mycology. She heads the laboratory of clinical Mycology at Necker Enfants Malades Hospital (Paris, France).
Her research is part of the Fungal Biology and Pathogenicity Unit from the department of Mycology at the Pasteur Institute in Paris and mainly focused on the pathogenesis and molecular epidemiology of fungal infections in humans. Recently, she turned her interest towards the role of mycobiota and intestinal colonization resistance to yeasts.
